ASL University: Powerpoints:

Dear ASL Instructors,
Some of you have asked for access to my Powerpoints.  Sure. I'm happy to share. Note these Powerpoints are in eternal  DRAFT form. I'm always improving them.  Yes, I know they could be "jazzed up" with pictures and graphics but please understand that many of these were developed for use in a public broadcast situation where I had to be careful to not use copyrighted material.  While it is "easy" to grab pictures off of the internet, it is not safe to use them in a studio broadcast since some of the pictures might be copyrighted. So I developed a simple (safe) set of Powerpoints that do not use pictures. They are not perfect but to whatever extent you find them useful feel free to use them. These Powerpoints are intended to be used by skilled instructors who are aware of and able to demonstrate the various versions of signs.  The Powerpoints are also meant to be used in combination with the ASLU self-study lessons.  When used together with the ASLU website, students will become used to the fact that there are often multiple ways to sign a word or phrase.  For example, the online pages explain that the right sign for the English word "can" depends on its meaning (i.e. whether you mean "a cylindrical container" or if you mean "the ability to do something").  Some of the slides above may (occasionally) use the "Gallaudet" (fingerspelling) Type font. I recommend you install it.  (If not, you may notice some of the words are too large for the side.)  [Click here to visit the "Font Page"]

Tip: To download, try "right clicking" a link and choosing "save target as..."  If you are on an Apple computer, try holding down the "Control" key or the "Command" key while clicking on the link.
Tip: Microsoft provides a viewing app for free that generally works well if you just need to "view" the Powerpoints on your computer.  Google: "Powerpoint Viewer" for more information.

The Powerpoints below are from my OLDER set.  Some of these require Gallaudet Type font installed.  Some of them are out of date and only roughly match the current lesson sentences and vocabulary. I'm providing these links as a courtesy to those who have requested access to these files.
