American Sign Language: "hammer"

The sign for "hammer" is done by miming the use of a hammer.  Grab an imaginary hammer using an "S"-handshape and make two quick strikes on an imaginary nail.  (If you hit your thumb make sure to let loose with an imaginary yell. ;-)

HAMMER:

"Hammer a nail"
Hold a "pretend' nail in your left hand and hit it twice with your "pretend" hammer.

Note:
Yes, as a matter of fact, I can amuse myself for hours.

Note:
If you mean "hammered" as in "drunk" see: DRUNK

Also see: SCREWDRIVER
