POLITICS: The sign for "politics" uses an initialized form of the sign "GOVERNMENT."
You do the sign for GOVERNMENT but you do it with a "P" handshape.
Hmmm, actually it is more of a "K" than a "P" since the orientation is with
the index finger pointing up and the tip of the middle finger touches the
forehead.
VIDEO RELAY SERVICE (VRS): A Video Relay Service is a type of
interpreter service that allows Deaf persons to use a Video Phone to
call an interpreter who then calls a Hearing person (or electronic
answering system) and relays messages between the Deaf person and the
person being called.
Hearing Ear Dogs: Service animals that have been specifically trained to
assist Deaf persons. For example, if someone knocks at the door
the dog barks or otherwise alerts the Deaf person. Another example is if
a Deaf person gets out of the car and accidentally drops her keys--the
dog will hear it and alert the Deaf person.
